Cheboygan Area Schools

Registration for students entering Kindergarten or Young 5's for the 2024-2025 school year will begin in April. You may email the completed forms to Mrs. Duffton or mail them to East Elementary, PO Box 100, 440 Garfield Ave., Cheboygan, MI 49721. New this year for all students enrolling in the kindergarten program is the requirement of a dental exam, along with the vision and physical exam.  Additional forms for the Young 5's program.

To enroll your student in kindergarten, you may download the registration packet above, or contact the East Elementary office. Registration is underway for children who will be 5 years old by September 1st (Children with a September, October, or November birth date who will be 5 by December 1st, remain eligible for kindergarten if the parent makes a request no later than June 1st.) Full-day kindergarten is offered. Also available at East Elementary is a Young 5's Kindergarten option. Students receive screenings prior to placement; the school will contact you to set up an appointment.                                                                                                            

Will you be new to our district this school year? To enroll your child or children for grades K-12 you may download the registration information below, or contact the school office of the grade your child will be enrolling in. During the month of July when the school offices are closed, you may complete the enrollment forms located below or enroll at the Cheboygan Area Schools business office located at 7461 N. Straits Hwy., Cheboygan, MI.

Required Documents
Each student will need a certified birth certificate, current immunization records, and two forms of proof of residency. Accepted proof of residence includes a current driver's license, recent gas, electric, or water utility bill; property tax bill; lease; mortgage; and renters or homeowners insurance. 

High school students will also need a transcript from their previous school or the most recent copy of their eighth-grade report card.
